Finding My Own Path

I have owned my own business for the last 35 years, and have devoted most of my time to making that business successful. I enjoy being in the office and using my professional skills, but have also wanted to spend more time taking art classes and exploring my other talents. While I am not ready to retire completely, I am ready to start scaling back on my work load.

For now, I have enough income to cover my expenses. However, I am concerned about having enough income later in life. The women in my family tend to live to a very old age, and I have not had any significant health issues. I decided to purchase a Deferred Income Annuity that will start providing income payments when I reach age 80.
